Free Native Plant Distribution for Riverfront Landowners
The Hill Country Alliance and partners are hosting a free plant distribution event at Mosty Brothers Nursery in Center Point for landowners along the Upper Guadalupe River and tributary creeks impacted by the July 4th flood. Containerized native riparian plants — Emory sedge, beaked spikerush, switchgrass, bushy bluestem, and whitetop sedge — will be provided along with educational resources and planting demonstrations. RSVP by June 8th.

Hope for the Guadalupe — Now in Alamo Drafthouse Theaters
Following wildly successful community screenings in Austin, Kerrville, San Antonio, Dallas, and Houston, Hope for the Guadalupe comes to Alamo Drafthouse theaters statewide May 31–June 2 as benefit screenings. Proceeds support river restoration efforts. The 30-minute film screens alongside a 40-minute cut of Deep in the Heart. Get tickets at Drafthouse.

Guadalupe River Cleanup — Lions Park
About 20 volunteers took to the river by kayak at Lions Park in Center Point, collecting over 150 pounds of trash from the waterway and adjacent banks. The event was part of Trash Free Gulf, presented by H-E-B’s Our Texas, Our Future, and brought together KCRF, the City of Kerrville Parks Department, Central Provisions, and regional partners including Texas Parks & Wildlife Foundation and Keep Texas Beautiful.

Adopt-a-River Trail: Native Planting & Habitat Work Day
Volunteers gathered along the Guadalupe River corridor to install tree cuttings at the river’s edge, dig out invasives, and hand-water newly established planted trees along the slopes — building the foundation for a resilient riparian buffer along the trail.

Coffee & Kayak: Fall Paddle
Community members joined KCRF board members for an early morning paddle on the Upper Guadalupe, with a post-paddle discussion on watershed health and upcoming restoration projects.
